I made a couple of cupcake boxes and they turned out to be really easy and fun to make. The cupcake box is from the B is For Birthday SVG kit. I'll definitely be making more of these in the future.

Zoo Trip
Sam took last week off of work and we were able to do a lot fun things as a family. We took the opportunity on one of the cooler days and we went to the zoo. It seems like anywhere we take Preston he is constantly asking to go home. Sure enough several times at the zoo he asked to go home. Overall the boys loved seeing the animals.
Sam and Preston in front of the lego polar bear.
Polar bear playing for everyone.
Waiting for the sea lions to swim by.
We decided to go down below to watch the sea lions. We had a great view of them and the boys loved it.
Pictures on the bridge.
My cute Spencer. He was a little preoccupied by the baby elephant.
It wouldn't be a zoo trip without seeing the giraffes.
This picture was taken just before we left. Both boys were so ready to go home.

Happy Birthday Sam!
My husband's birthday was last Friday and it was the perfect excuse to try some more cake decorating. I decided to try and make one of those ruffle cakes that I keep seeing on pinterest. It was surprisingly a lot easier than I thought it would be. Next time I will probably try something else on top but I really liked how the ruffles turned out.
My first ruffle cake.
I tried to make a 33 out of the candles.
Happy Birthday Sam!

Preston Turns 3!
My little Preston turned 3 today. I can't believe how big he getting and how much he is able to do now.
Preston age 3
Fun facts about Preston at age 3:
- his favorite color is green
- he asks for cookies and bubbles at least 3 times a day.
- he can now say about 175 words (big improvement from 6 months ago when he could only say 20).
- his favorite movie is Cars. He loves all types of cars and trucks and especially motorcycles. He is always pointing out bikes wherever we go and gets excited when we pass the motorcycle store on the way to the freeway. It seems like he always has a car in one of his hands and he has the hardest time sharing them with his brother.
- He knows all of the colors and most of his letters. He is aslo pretty good counter. The other day I told him to count his cars and he said "1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 11." Then he had the biggest grin on his face.
Preston helping me make his McQueen cake.
The first thing Preston said to me today when I got him up in the morning was "mcqueen cake," and I said "yep today is the day we get to make your mcqueen cake." Pretty much everyday when I get him in the morning he says "daddy work," and I reply "yep daddy is at work." He is such a daddy's boy.
This is the first time that I have attempted something like this and I really like how it turned out.
Singing happy birthday and blowing out the candle.
Opening presents - Spencer thought everything was for him too.
We surprised him with a bike for his birthday. The grin on his face when he first saw it was priceless.
Outside on his bike for the first time.

4th of July
We didn't take very many pictures on the 4th but here are a couple of our cute kids. Also Preston's new word - amazing. We were watching the fireworks and he kept saying "amazing" and "look baby amazing." He picked it up from watching the movie Monsters VS Aliens and they say that word a lot.

June Cards and Crafts
Lately I have been taking advantage of my kids long naps in the afternoon by doing some crafting. Here are a couple of cards and crafts I made during the month of June.
3D USA letters - making the U was the biggest pain and I ended up doing it twice.
This is from the Made In The USA SVG Kit
Patriotic Banner
A couple of close ups of the banner.
3D grand piano - from the Thank You For the Music SVG Kit
Here are the Father's Day cards I made for our fathers and Sam.
Preston made this adorable tie for Sam for Father's day at his toddler class.

Lagoon Day
Last week the company Sam works for had a company party at Lagoon (so it was free for us). We went on a couple of rides and the kids had a blast.
Preston on the carrousel
Spencer on the carrousel
Preston on the boat ride. He absolutely loved this.
The train was by far the best ride. Both boys loved it. Spencer was really fussy but the moment the train started going he was calm as can be and really happy.
Sam and I didn't realize that there were animals at Lagoon. They were the most active animals we have ever seen. The were walking around and the lion was even roaring. We were thinking maybe they didn't like the noise from the train.
