New York

Last July we took a trip to Rochester New York to visit Sam's Parents.

While we were there they were having record breaking heat and humidity and on top of that we had no AC. Preston was having a really hard time adjusting. Here he is with his Grandpa Schwendiman feeling dejected.

Sam's dad is the President of the Hill Cumorah Pageant so we were able to take of tour of all of the behind the scenes stuff. Maybe one year we will actually be in it.

We took a tour of the Grandin building where they printed, bound, and sold some of the first copies of the Book of Mormon.

Sam and I went to the Pageant closing night. It was my first time seeing it and it was absolutely amazing.

While we were there we celebrated July birthdays: Sam, Preston, Sean (my brother-in-law), Marlene (my mother-in-law), and Jacob (my nephew).

Happy Birthday Preston!

Preston is one!! I can't believe that it has been a year since he was born.

Here are some things about my little Preston:

• He now weighs 17 lbs 4 oz (1st percentile) and is 28.75 inches long (50th percentile).
• He's an extremely fast crawler and has no interest in walking yet, but can stand on his own.
• He's a really picky eater - that's probably why he is so skinny.
• He now has 8 teeth.
• He has mastered moving the baby gate - he doesn't like to stay in one room.
  
• He is really good at climbing on or over things.

11 Months

Preston is now 11 months old. He has tons of energy and is always on the go.

Here are some things about him:

• he now has 4 teeth
• he is really fast at walking along the couch/furniture
• he doesn't like cauliflower - when he is done with his food he'll start moving it from his trey to the table
  
• he loves books and being read to, he is always dragging them everywhere
• it doesn't matter what time of day it is he would rather be playing than eating
• he can stand on his own for a couple of seconds
  

A couple of weeks ago Preston started making this face. I think he does it when he is frustrated. Whenever we take something away from him, or he doesn't like something, he makes this face at us.

He always crosses his legs while he is in his high chair.

Zoo Trip

Last Saturday we took Preston to the Zoo for the first time. For the most part he seemed kind of oblivious to the animals around him and focused more on the people. The two animals he loved were the leopard and the giraffes, he couldn't stop staring and smiling at them.

10 Months

Preston is 10 months old! He continues to be a happy baby and has tons of energy. He now has 3 teeth and is curious about everything.

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter. Sam sang a beautiful solo in the Easter program at church. Then afterwords we were able to spend time with family.

9 Months Old Already

I can't believe that Preston is 9 months old already. I took him to his 9 month checkup today and he weighs 15.5 pounds (and apparently he's in the 0 percentile, he's so skinny) and is 28.5 inches long (54th percentile). For being such a little guy he has tons of energy.

Here are some things about him:

• he is a fast crawler
  
• he pulls himself up to a standing position all of the time
• he can move from one end of the couch to the other when standing
  
• says dada and mama, and babbles all of the time
• he prefers vegetables over fruits
• he sits on his own and can get into a sitting position
• after some training he can now fall asleep on his own when left in the crib for naps and bedtime
• he has two cute bottom teeth
